Church Preschool Director

Location: Black Mountain Presbyterian Church, Black Mountain, NC

Position Type: Full-time

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Director to lead our church-based preschool, rooted in a holistic, play-based educational philosophy. This role is ideal for someone who believes young children learn best through curiosity, exploration, meaningful relationships, and joyful play—within a nurturing, faith-centered community.

About Our Program

Our preschool honors the whole child—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. We emphasize holistic learning, outdoor play, creativity, and strong partnerships with families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership for a play-based, developmentally appropriate preschool program
• Support and mentor teachers in holistic, child-centered practices
• Oversee daily operations, licensing compliance, and curriculum alignment
• Foster a warm, inclusive, and faith-filled environment
• Build strong relationships with families, staff, and church leadership
• Manage enrollment, scheduling, and program growth
• Ensure a safe, joyful, and engaging learning environment for children

Qualifications:

• Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)
• Experience in preschool administration or leadership (preferred)
• Strong understanding of play-based and holistic educational approaches
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Commitment to the values and mission of a church-based program
• Meets all state licensing and background check requirements
