Victory Village Child Care Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization that operates the University Child Care Center for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC Hospitals. Victory Village is fully enrolled throughout the year with more than 150 children, newborn through pre-kindergarten. The children are cared for by more than 50 outstanding and diverse teachers and staff, all of whom are employed by Victory Village. It operates Monday through Friday in a well-maintained campus-based facility and serves a supportive and engaged community of families.
Victory Village is a highly respected, 5-star, NAEYC-accredited day care center with a strong foothold in the community. The Executive Director will foster continued excellence, diversity, and community engagement. The Executive Director reports to and collaborates with a Board of Directors, which is composed of Center families and University and Hospital employees.
Description of Job Duties
Responsible for the administration, direction and oversight of the facility. Oversee school program and program delivery according to brand standards. Recruits, selects, and develops qualified employees and sets professional growth opportunities for expanded roles. Conduct new hire orientation and on-boarding. Anticipate staffing needs, prepare and post weekly staffing schedules, and modify depending upon daily attendance in each classroom. Respond and follow up on all enrollment inquiries. Gives prospective families tours of the facility and detailed information about Victory Village’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, programs, and procedures. Represent Victory Village to the community, families, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity. Recognize family concerns, evaluates the course of action, and respond professionally to the needs of families.
Implement Victory Village policies, procedures and systems to ensure safe, healthy environment in compliance with state standards at all times. Responsible for licensing and accreditation standards, including maintaining current licensing documentation and licensing regulations. Compliance with applicable State laws and regulations. Ensures child safety and nutrition standards, grant applications and special project funding, participation with Board in fiscal policy, and fostering culture of diversity and inclusion.
Responsible for maintaining day-to-day financial operations of the center according to the budget approved by the Board of Directors. Regular, detailed financial and operations reports will be shared with the Board of Directors to ensure the financial and operational strength of the Center as well as continuing the long history of reporting and compliance excellence.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development.
Four years of management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong and proven interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated expertise in the development of trusting relationships and partnerships. Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
