Position Type:

The Preschool Director is a part-time position with no benefits. The position requires a minimum of six working hours per day through the 9-month school year and 6 weeks during the summer. Total 30 hours per week.

About Our Program:

Millbrook United Methodist Preschool is a non-profit organization offering a child oriented, Christian centered half day preschool program. We are a play-based preschool serving children from the ages of 1-5 and currently have 7 classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement the Millbrook United Methodist Preschool (MUMPS) program in alignment with church objectives and philosophy, collaborating with pastors and the Preschool Committee.
  • Supervise teaching staff, review lesson plans, and approves curriculum choices to assure developmentally appropriate practices. Hire new teachers as needed.
  • Manage student registration, process applications, and maintain waiting lists, providing comprehensive information to parents.
  • Oversee the preschool budget, tuition, and finances with the Preschool Treasurer.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain safe premises and equipment including adherence to state, city, county, and church requirements.
  • Organize special activities, assist in classrooms as needed, and oversee procurement of supplies and snacks to support daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, pastors, and the Preschool Committee via email, social media, and phone messages. Maintain and update the MUMPS Facebook page and church preschool website, coordinating with the web designer to ensure accurate and engaging content.
  • Promote the program through church, social media, and community channels, leveraging various platforms to increase visibility, enrollment, and hiring.
  • Facilitate staff development opportunities, conduct monthly staff meetings, and conduct annual performance evaluations to support professional growth.
  • Arrange substitute teachers when necessary, maintain confidentiality regarding children and parents, and keep accurate records of equipment and supplies for insurance purposes.


  • Be prepared and comfortable to work in a Christian environment through a personal faith
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • School director or management experience preferred
  • Teaching experience, preferably with preschool age children
  • Knowledge of Conscious Discipline preferred
  • Ability to handle business and financial aspects of school administration including budget, tuition tracking, and office management skills.
  • Have or willing to receive First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certifications. Certifications must be maintained during length of employment.
