Consuellis Hawkins-Crudup has served on the NCAEYC Board for over ten years: on the Professional Development Committee (Conference) as Chairperson and as Secretary for the Association. As President, her primary role is to act as the Chair of the NCAEYC Board of Directors. The President presides at all meetings and oversees the implementation of policies and ensures that appropriate administrative systems are established and maintained. She does not serve on any one particular committee but offers her guidance and support as an ex officio member of all committees.

Consuellis received her Bachelor’s Degree from East Carolina University and her Master’s Degree from North Carolina Central University.  Professionally, Consuellis has over 20 years of experience with young children and families. She currently works for East Coast Migrant Head Start Project as the School Readiness Manager. She specifically provides training and technical assistance to Head Start staff for collecting and analyzing school readiness data to support child outcomes.

Consuellis has a strong interest in working with teachers because they are pivotal to children’s school readiness success. She is a native of Franklin County, North Carolina, and enjoys spending family time with her husband and two sons when not at a football game.
