Myra Burrell represents NCAEYC’s League of Local Leaders. She also serves on the Board’s Membership and Local Support Committee. Currently Myra is the Data and Contracts Specialist at the Partnership for Children of Johnston County where she has worked for four years.
Previously Myra was a toddler and preschool teacher. Myra founded and was Past President of the JoCo aeyc affiliate. Her particular areas of interest in early childhood involve improving the quality of care for children and training/educating adults in the field. In 2015, Myra completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies with a focus on Adult Education in the Early Childhood Field.
Myra is originally from the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, is happily married, and has an amazing 9 year old son who was her inspiration for getting into Early Childhood Education. In her free time, Myra enjoys spending time with her family—especially watching her son play goalie for the Hurricanes House League.
